I am The Ginger Chef also known as Ben Mckellar. I trained as a chef at Brighton College and after training in Europe and New York, I returned to Sussex where I have opened 4 food driven venues with my wife and business partner Pamela Mckellar.

We opened The Gingerman Restaurant at Norfolk Square 12 years ago which still stands as the highest rated restaurant in Brighton. Then we opened our first pub venue The Ginger Pig in 2006 which has awarded a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide for the past two years and then in early 2008 we opened The Ginger Fox which has also been awarded a Big Gourmand. We opened our newest pub The Ginger Dog earlier this year.

We are really proud of our achievements and it takes a huge amount of work to run a family business like this. We started this blog to share some of our experiences, our love of food and to ensure that you know we are very much hands on with all areas of our business.
